Models For Heroes is a charity based in Berkshire, its aim is to support current and former Armed Forces and Emergency Services personnel with Mental Health issues through the medium of model making.

This documentary focuses on the work M4H does.
As a keen modeller myself (Rust n Stuff) I am aware of the benefits of this activity on Mental Health, having had a few issues of my own in recent years.
It has shown that model making has a positive impact on mental health as it can serve as a form of relaxation, stress relief, and creative expression.
Engaging in this activity allows individuals to focus their attention on a specific task, which can help to reduce feelings of anxiety and stress, and can also provide a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction, which can boost self-esteem and improve a person's mood.
The process of creating something with your hands can be a meditative and calming experience, which can help to alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety.
Additionally, model making can serve as a social activity, allowing individuals to connect with others who share their interests and engage in a sense of community.
This can help to reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness, which can have a positive impact on mental health.
I wanted to look at it from a modellers point of few, not the people's journeys. Some amazing videos have been made around this subject, check out Tom Williams film.
My aim was to focus on the next stage, building models and how it has helped them in their daily lives.
I followed M4H throughout 2023 capturing them at various events they attend around the country.
